Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its annual Star Rating list, naming Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort as a new Forbes Travel Guide Recommended luxury hotel. Hacienda Del Sol will be showcased with all of the Star Rating recipients on ForbesTravelGuide.com. The Hacienda Del Sol is one of only four Forbes rated hotels in Tucson. Check out our listing here.
Forbes' Five-Star rating system dates back to 1958, when it began as the Mobil Travel Guide. It is the only independent global rating system for hotels, restaurants, and spas. Inclusion on this list is an indication of "...a strong culture of service," according to Gerard J. Inzerillo, chief executive officer of Forbes Travel Guide. He explains that included properties have been found to "achieve an impeccable standard of excellence in hospitality, underscoring our overall mission of positively contributing to the international tourism industry as well as individual hotel experience."
The organization's analysts reviewed product and service reports including processes and procedures submitted by the resort. Additionally, unidentified representatives of the guide experienced the Hacienda Del Sol in-person. Inspectors stay a minimum of two nights and rate product and service based on 900 objective criteria. Forbes inspectors never announce their presence and do not accept compensation of any kind, including a free stay, meals, or amenities. They experience properties just as any other guest would. Analysis and first-hand experience combined compelled inspectors to award the recommendation based on our impeccable offerings and service level.
Yes. You read that correctly – 900 objective criteria. The key to meeting so many criteria and objectives is two-fold, we believe. It lies is the execution of details and the people who are tasked with doing so. Every Hacienda Del Sol associate is carefully selected and asked to treat every guest as if they are the only person in the world at that moment. (For most of our team, this is a redundant request as they come prepared to do so.) We get to know our guests and seek to try to anticipate what they will like or need before they ask. Every request represents an immediate need and top priority. Part of this attention to our guests is attention to detail on-property before they even arrive. For example, each guest room is inspected by at least one (most often two) supervisors to ensure every level of cleanliness and comfort is achieved prior to check-in. We call it the White Glove process. Much time is spent every month to fine tune and train every housekeeping and guest services associate to prepare White-Glove-worthy experiences. And this is just one aspect of the experience! Our Culinary team, restaurant service representatives, reservations associates, and valet attendants all take ownership of their own version of the White Glove process to work by. Often it is these associates who create new levels of service and experiences to offer guests. It is an amazing thing and something in which we all take pride.

In addition to a AAA Four Diamond rating, we've earned "The Award of Ultimate Distinction" by Wine Enthusiasts Magazine and "Best Of Award of Excellence" designation from Wine Spectator. Our local friends and neighbors have called us out as a “Best Place for Out-of-Town Visitors” and a Best Brunch Spot". We are humbled.
