The new Catalina rooms and suites rival the beauty and uniqueness of the original 27 historic rooms. Each features a unique hand-painted border around the ceiling, Talavera tile, and custom-made wood furniture handcrafted in Mexico from solid Oregon alder wood. Light fixtures, headboards, wrought iron drapery rods, wood floors and vibrant fabrics adorning the rooms embody the spirit of the Southwest. Walls are painted in rich earth tones with hints of desert sage, sunset melon and periwinkle to complement the Tucson sky.
Every room has a patio with a spectacular view of the mountains or cityscape; most have both views and six have private, outdoor showers. The two Catalina suites are double the standard room size and include a conference sized dining table with conferencing capabilities for smaller board meetings or for those guests who wish to have a parlor.
Here is what some recent visitors had to say about the rooms:
"Our room was spacious and the view splendid. I was particularly impressed with the huge bathroom and its shower ... The rooms are actually designed to accommodate in-room spa services, how nice is that?! Everywhere, there are touches of colour; whether it’s the pretty ceramic tiles, the sinks or the hand-painted, colourful pots of plants." - Josianne Isabel, Travel Blogger for Par Josianne and Event Planner
The room was very large with 10' ceilings, handcrafted furniture, Talavera tile, wood floors, private patio, seating area, large closet, plenty of storage, a writing desk and more the room was clearly designed with luxury in mind. - Alexa Meisler, Travel Blogger for 52 Perfect Days
